PHS Split Release tapes are used indoors, for the airtight bonding and sealing of
door and window reveals.
They are an airtight, pliable, stretchable PE-film sealing tape with moisture-resistant polyacrylate adhesive of extremely high tack and permanent adhesion, as well as outstanding ageing resistance. The split strip release facilitates the speedy and accurate fixing of the tape to window and external door frames. The PHS Split release tape permits the installer to quickly apply it to the window frame and reveal in separate and manageable steps.

Application:
- Surfaces must be stable, dry, free of grease and dust, and should not contain adhesive-repellent coating.
- For bonding MDF boards or masonry surfaces we recommend preconditioning the surfaces with the PHS Primer.
- The installer should firstly apply a sample of the tape and test adhesion.
- Cut the required length of tape; fold the tape along the split line.
- The 50mm release liner strip is removed and the tape is applied to the floor.
- Remove the remaining adhesive liner and fit the balance of tape to the wall.
Fitting Instructions:
- Remove any window protective foil and wipe the frame with a solvent, to remove any undesireable surface residues.
- Measure the required length of tape.
- The 15mm release liner strip is removed and the tape is applied to the window frame.
- Remove the remaining release liner and apply the remaining tape to the reveal.
- Ensure there is sufficient stress relief on the tape, this prevents pulling of the tape and possible damage.
- For the best adhesion, apply sufficient pressure by rolling the tape.
Tape to Membrane:
Ensure the membrane is without strain, dry (without condensation) and without creases.
Tape to Timber:
The timber should be smooth, dry and dust free. If in doubt apply a coat of primer to the
timber, let dry and test the tape adhesion before proceeding.
Tape to Masonry:
The masonry must be smooth, dry and dust free. The masonry surface must first be
prepared by applying a coat of PHS Primer, let the primer dry and test the tape adhesion
before proceeding with full tape application.
